New Limited Edition Giclee Prints: 60 Noses 17 x 11"
My first set of limited edition prints have just been added to the new Store section of the website. Now available are a collection of sixty female and male noses, arranged chronologically from people ages 16 - 90. The original pencil drawings (based on arrest photos) are faithfully reproduced on beautifully textured, 100% cotton Hahnemühle paper. These sturdy prints (310 gsm) are shipped flat, signed and numbered in pencil. Paper size is 17 x 11", image size is 15 x 9" (one inch border all around). The edition is limited to 300, visit the Store to order. $50 + shipping.

Jack-o-lantern 2008: Karlheinz Stockhausen
Every Halloween I carve a 3D-style jack-o-lantern (previous pumpkins are here). I decided to modify the tradition a bit, and from now on I will carve a jack-o-lantern honoring an artist who has died since the previous Halloween. This year I chose German composer and godfather of electronic music, Karlheinz Stockhausen (22 August 1928 - 5 December 2007). He was incredibly creative and ambitious, writing an opera cycle that takes a week to perform (Licht), a concert piece for three orchestras (Gruppen), and a string quartet that's performed inside of helicopters (Helikopter-Streichquartett). Plus his electronic pieces like Gesang der Jünglinge make for especially good Halloween music. And he might have been an alien (he claimed that he was from a planet orbiting the star Sirius). Thanks for the music, Stockhausen!

BFF in FHM Germany
The current issue of FHM Germany (No. 96, Oct 2008) features a story on the BFF project. According to a computerized translator, the article reads, "On the search for completely different kind of unknown quantities it went with its new project, which it calls BFF." It did indeed.

Raw Shack 9/13 at Austin New Music Co-op's Game Show

Featuring 20 performers, the program also includes pieces by John Zorn, Robert Erickson, Brent Fariss, Brandon Young, Christopher Petkus, and members of the Fluxus movement. Performance with Shawn Phillips, Paul Buckmaster, and J. Peter Robinson

Friendly Fire in Auckland
Friendly Fire, a sound art exhibition organized by Ian-John Hutchinson, bursts into the Starkwhite Gallery in Auckland, New Zealand, this Tuesday, March 12 at 5:30pm. The ammunition is recordings of people from different parts of the world making gunshot noises with their mouths. My contribution is loaded with people from the New York area.
